BDJ Box Beauty Social: Camp Gorgeous

I would be lying if I say that the thing I like best about the BDJ Box Beauty Social beauty events are the talks. Honestly, I go there mainly for the loot bags! And let me note the reasons why:

  • The samples are my basis if a certain product is really worth my hard-earned money
  • I get to share the samples to my mom, my cousins and my friends
  • I get ideas on what to give for gifts
  • I am forced to go the very far venues and visit other malls that I have not been to like the North EDSA branch ( We live in Antipolo, so there!)
To be fair, I like their talks, its just that I never get the chance to be booked on the ones that I really really like! I always include the talk with the Beauty ministry on my preferred talks and I always get lucky in getting a spot. I always go with my daughter and I also send a registration for her so she gets to sit and receive a loot bag :)

Overall, I like the experience in this month's event. The booths and sponsors were great, my daughter even had a moment at the Too Cool for School booth. She wanted to be made up so she could look like Elsa of Frozen!

Looking forward to the next event!

Lessons of 2013

God has always been good to me. I alwas trust that everthing he lets me experience is a gift and a lesson, and as we come to the end of the year, let me share with you those lessons and realizations I had for the past 12 months.

Death is an inescapable, painful truth: My Grandmother died November 5, 2013. I got a text. The saddest text I have ever received. It is by far, the saddest news I got. My heart was still hopeful that she was still going to make it because she had survived so many hospital trips, I knew that this was something that was going to pass and we can all move on with our simple lives. But that day really changed me. Reality couldnt sink in because I believe in my heart it wasnt her time to go. But she's gone. I am forever changed and I will never ever forget her. There will never be a day that I will not think of her. Nanay is a blessing to me. If there's anything that she taught me, thats to give. Give until you have nothing and give even if you have nothing. My grandmother is very generous, she's kind and she's loved by all. She touched many lives, helped so many, and she will forever be remembered. Food will never taste the same without you. I can still hear your voice in my head. I hope you are in heaven beside him. Pray for me. I do not know how to get over this. Some beloved friends left the same month. Zidjay Ilejay and Christian Gabana. They will be missed.

I am totally okay being single: Again, its not a tragedy. Its a blessing. I get to do whatever I want to do with my life and I get to bring my daughter up the way I want her to be raised. I am drama-free and very happy.

I have very few "friends": There are people who are always there, but it doesn't mean that they will be with you when you need them.

I still don't f*cking care: Need I say more? :) ( About BS and stuff)

I love food and at the same time, I worry about getting a heart attack: I am complicated, what can I do?

I love being busy: I am more focused when I do things. Even when they all come at the same time. I don't need motivation, that's for amateurs.

I am a strong and independent woman: I take no bullshit and I go forward in life with all my might. I am the king of my own castle.

I love my country: This year, my country suffered a lot of tragedies and I am just so proud of how my countrymen was able to gather courage and strength to move forward. I pray that things will all get better soon.

Lastly, I realized that its important to really live life to the fullest, not just say it, live it! Wake up everyday and thank God for another wonderful opportunity to do things you like to do, Appreciate the little things in life, say hello to acquaintances who have been very good and accommodating to you for you never know when will be the last time you can chat, stay away from social media every once in a while and really live in the present. Life is good. Live it.

Halloween 2013

(L-R: 2010, 2011,2012 and 2013)

Julian has been attending halloween parties since the day she was born :D .. Well, not really but the first time she attended a Halloween event was when she was 10 months old. I remember that it was in Podium. After that year, it has become a tradition that she attends Halloween parties.

This year was kind of different because we attended the one from her school. It was nice because the kids knew each other and they even prepared a song and dance number. Ofcourse there were games, and Julian even won one from te "bring me" game. There was a lot of fun things that happened not only during the party, but with the entire preparation, and that certainly includes the costume- we did not have a hard time thinking since Julian made it perfectly clear that she wanted to be Vector this Halloween. So, we had the costume made including the hair (made of yarn, which my mom made) . It was not difficult at all to put together Vector's look. We just had to invest on having the outfit made :)

Julian won the "most unique costume" award.. Here are the photos:

BDJ box products

Okay, so I am not a make up pro, let's make that clear. I go to work with just blush and lipstick on most of the time. I credit this to not being able to wake up a soon as my phone alarms (I usually snooze and then forget about the alarm thinking that extra 5 mins won't really hurt my time), plus the fact that I am not really good in putting on make up.

I subscribed to BDJ because I thought it was nice to get a box of girl stuff at a very reasonable price! (Now this one I credit to my love for online shopping and discount and coupon hunting). This is my second box, and I have to say that I am very happy with I got. Let me share with you whats inside the BDJ October box:

Volum' express hypercurl Masscara (worth P 299)

Baby lips rubway brights (worth P89)

Color Sensational Lasting Lip Color ( worth 399)

Eye studio lumineyes shadow ( worth P599)

Clear Smooth BB stick 8-in-1 skin transformer ( worth P379) *i love this product! :)

Clear smooth all in one shine free foundation (worth P249)

It also came with a Maybelline new york card, and I have to admit that I am not exactly sure of how and where to use it. And also, the sticker that promotes empowerment. All these I got for less than 600 bucks! What a treat!

Its like rebuilding my kilay kit! It has everything that i need and want! Ofcourse, its only fitting that i show you that I really used these amazing products!

I  am still learning how to properly apply the eye make up and stuff, but one thing is for sure, I looked better with some color! Thank you BDJ for coming up with this wonderful set.

This is the second time I purchased a BDJ box. I was actually expecting it last month, but since there was so many who purchased, my order wasn't able to make the cut.

The box is stuffed with Maybelline products. The box is named sugar and spice and the colors of the products really fits sense of augar and spice (when you think about it). I have to say, I really love the shades of the eye shadow and the lipstick.

For those of you who wanted to purchase or maybe even subscribe to get a box/es, you can visit their website http://bdjbox.com the box costs P580, thats for 1 month subscription. You will definitely get your money's worth! The products are all good :)

BDJ Social Primp and Prettify Event

My daughter and I went to the BDJ social primp and prettify event at SM North Edsa.

I was one of the lucky few who got a couple of passes for the event. The event itself was well organized, the talks that I got to see/ hear were just right on time, entry and exit to the area was well guided by the staff.

I got 2 invites for the event, but Me and my daughter only attended one because she was so tired and sleepy, anyways, the talk was good, o got to ask questions and learned about the CC cream--yes! CC, not BB.. Apparently, its like an upgraded version of the bb cream. I am actually thinking of buying one :)

Honestly, what I like most about the event is... The loot bags! Yay! And please take note that its plural (loot bags) because Julian also got one! :) there were sample products from Garnier, Celeteque, cosmo, women's health, etc..

What I don't like about it is.. The mall is just waaay too far from where we live! Then when we got there, my daughter didn't want to eat anywhere but KFC.. And surprise, surprise! Their KFC was in the food court! We didn't have a seat at first so I had to look around while carrying the tray and my daughter holding my bag because I am afraid she might get kidnapped or something. That's just me being OA! Everything was fine :)

I had fun at the event! Please see our pictures:
